The wise men answered my questions, but I was not satisfied with their answers. One day, I decided to go and meet the hermit in the forest. I approached him. He was digging flower beds outside his hut. I left my horse with my bodyguard and went there alone. I politely asked him to answer my three questions: What is the right time to do a work? Who are the most important person to listen to? What is the most important business to do at a time? The hermit kept his cool. He didn’t answer my questions. He kept himself busy in his work. He seemed dead tired. So, I began to do his work for him. I kept doing his work till sunset.
At sunset, a bearded man came running towards us. His hands were pressed against his stomach from which blood was flowing. He fainted and hit the ground. We removed his clothing. I washed and dressed the wound. After that we took him inside the hut and laid him on the bed. The man closed his eyes and lay quiet. Being tired of day’s work, I fell fast asleep.
When I awoke, the wounded man asked for my forgiveness. He told me that he was my enemy. He had come to kill me to take the revenge for his brother’s murder and for taking away his property. He also thanked me for saving his life. I forgave him and promised to sent my doctor to treat him at his place and return him his seized property. I made peace with him for ever. l again asked the hermit to answer my questions. The hermit told me that the most important time is ‘Now’. The most important person is he with whom you are at a particular time. The most important business is to do that person good. I felt satisfied with the hermit’s answers and came back.
