The title of the story is ‘Quality’. Here, quality refers both to the boots and the bootmaker. The bootmaker had character. He was ready to die for what he believes in. One day while cooking, he put vegetables on the stove. He came out and began to clean his bicycle. The neighbour called out saying that something was burning. Hearing this, my uncle rushed to the kitchen. He put some oil on the vegetables to save them. Unfortunately, it was the machine oil and not the cooking oil. The vegetables burnt badly and got spoiled completely.
